HARARE-Zimbabwean business tycoon and Zanu PF Senator Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei has launched a US`$500,000 Youth Innovation Fund to provide financial support to young entrepreneurs and help turn innovative ideas into viable businesses.
The fund was launched at the Harare City Centre SDA Church during the Marketplace for the Master Business Seminar, where Tagwirei delivered the keynote address and other speakers included Fossil CEO Obey Chimuka,businessman-cum-gospel musician,Everton Mlalazi among other youthful businessmen.
The fund targets young entrepreneurs aged 20 to 35 who participated in the programme, with funding intended to help them move from business incubation to sustainable enterprises.
Senator Tagwirei challenged young Zimbabweans to be innovative, take calculated risks and view economic challenges as opportunities to develop new businesses.
The fund is expected to grow to US$1 million within five years, subject to performance, potentially expanding the pool of capital available to young entrepreneurs.
The initiative comes amid growing efforts to improve access to finance for Zimbabwean youths, who often face challenges securing the capital required to start or scale businesses.
Tagwirei said young entrepreneurs needed to focus on creating solutions to real economic problems rather than waiting for employment opportunities.

pledged US$1 million and 10 vehicles per province to support empowerment projects for children of Zimbabwe’s liberation war veterans.
This was announced during the Presidential Interface with Children of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle held at the Harare International Conference Centre on Monday, October 5, 2026, where President Emmerson Mnangagwa was the guest.
